50th Annual International Campout in Helper, Utah
Jun 20, 23 - Jun 22, 23
$10Helper has a rich railroad and mining history. We will camp at city park. There is space for RVs in the parking lot or at Al and Michelle’s house across the street. You can also go to one of two local RV parks called Castle Gate RV and Blue Cut RV.
Showers: There are free showers at the pool which is part of the park. They will be opened 6AM-8AM. The pool will be open from noon to 6 PM. Cost is $5.00 per person to swim and use the facilities. There is a concession stand at the pool for your use. You don’t have to pay $5.00 if you don’t want to swim, but do want a concession.
Bathrooms are located near the ballfield and near the pool.
Dogs are not allowed in the park. There was a discussion at the last city council meeting about allowing dogs in parks. It was felt that too many people do not pick up after their dogs so the dog ban was kept in place. Your dog is welcome to stay in the orchard or board at the Yarning Dog Ranch.
Conveniences: All conveniences in Helper.
Where to eat: Balance Rock Eatery, Aunt Nells and Angel’s food truck are the best places to eat! Marsha is in the process of opening a soup kitchen at the Avalon House.
More fun stuff to do: There are great roads to ride and trails to hike. We are looking forward to a local brewery serving Helper Beer and food by next summer. Ghost towns are up Spring Canyon. Some of the art galleries will be open. Be sure to check out 3 on the Tree Gallery. It is full of car and motorcycle paintings by the artist Kate Kilpatrick. The Lincoln Hotel has old Harleys for your to view. The Helper Museum has over 40 rooms displaying everything from mining equipment to railroad items to a bordello room to Americana history, to mine disasters.
We are working on a shirt design.
More to come as we organize events.
